Harbaugh facing 4 game suspension

I am guessing the got lots of perks. But they were not charged for those. The infraction was Tressel not telling the truth. He was notified of the tattoos and memorabilia and he said he wasnt.
What screwed Tressel wasn't just saying he knew nothing, he didn't notify the OSU about it, then signed off on it to the NCAA that he knew of no infractions. And while the memorabilia/tattoos were a part of it, it was much more, as they found 50+ cars giving to players by dealerships.

It is what it is though. In today's game -- people would be calling OSU cheap if all they were doing was selling memorabilia for money or giving a few players a car. :beer2:

Harbaugh still gets to coach all the practices and everything just not the games, so this really is just a pointless "flex" by the NCAA.

It is all pointless when you have kids being given millions coming out of high school that they are trying to suspend someone for paying for a cheeseburger. But it is what it is. Harbaugh is a moron for not just saying, I bought him a cheeseburger

Seems like it would have been far more appropriate to issue a fine of some number and be done with it. A fine directly to Harbaugh would have slapped him on the wrist while not hurting the actual team.

Was Tressel notified about the cars? Now Im sure he knew but was there any proof that he knew?

All that I read is that he was notified about that tattoo shop and the FBI investigation.

Harbs lied and then had an attitude. They wanted to make an example out of him for being an ass. The infraction itself is not that serious.

Sounds like a medical condition that requires Harbs to spend time with the family is about to happen. Then an NFL job announcement in January.

I'm actually very interested to see how he reacts to this. I don't buy into this turning into some great motivator that gets Michigan over the hump to a national title, IMO only bad can come from this.

If he lied, then he should be suspended. I won't defend that.

But, lets look at the NCAA and consider that now that athletes are getting paid, why the hell is a text message an issue?

Meh, I think it will end up being him serving some kind of suspension, perhaps less than 4 but the NCAA is dying on the vine and for the simple reason of spite they are going to hold their ground. But if he lied, he should be held accountable

I mean how Harbaugh acts personally. I thought I read awhile back that he “wasn’t willing” to serve a suspension. If he’s still in this thought process it’s going to cause bad blood if he feels like the university didn’t fight hard enough for him.

I understand what you are saying, and that may be the case. Harbaugh is going to continue flirting with NFL gigs regardless. I do know that there is tension between him and the AD. So much that the president of the university had to step in.

I hope he gets one of those laughable suspensions players sometimes get, where he has to sit out the first half of the first game of the season. Such a joke of a "punishment".

“he lied about tattoos”

One time. About tattoos.

Looks like Harbaughs suspension is being delayed until 2024 bc the committee on infractions rejected his deal with the NCAA.

Not sure if this means it could get completely overturned or if they are saying they don't think it's enough.
