Michigan sub .500 team

You've been pimping JH's coaching abilites up for years. What makes him so great? His record (and resmue) speaks for itself. Yet you've fooled yourself into thinking he's one of the best around. You are one funny homer.

"We're winning"

Gotta call bullshit on that. I suggest you reread comment # 36. It explains his record in the most important games. You should know what that is. Those are games vs. ranked teams you choose to ignore. No wonder you think he's so great. You've created your own Harbaugh reality.
His record compared to most teams is great. His record compared to the ridiculous superpower OSU has built is not. When you remove that comparison, Harbaugh is doing a fine job at Michigan. Winning record vs. most B10 teams. A close record with most of the major B10 teams. Winning record vs. ND and MSU. Harbaugh's record is only bad when compared to one of the best programs in the country, and one of the best stretches OSU has ever had.

Here are some of the numbers the school will take into consideration for a new contratct.

0-5 vs. Ohio State (only coach in UofM history to start 0-5 & only coach to give up 55+ in back to back games)
10-14 vs. all ranked AP opponents
2-11 vs. the top 10
1-10 an an underdog
1-4 in bowl games (4 game losing streak and only UofM coach to lose back to back bowl games by double digits)
only the second time in school history that UofM has lost 4 straight bowl games
zero CCG appearances
zero conference titles

His resume speaks for itself, it's not good. With his overwhelming lack of accomplsiments do you really think he's worth the money? Ran across an article a week or so ago- with contract uncertainty, does jim harbaugh need to justify his salary this season. A few things from it.

-from coaching shirtless to satellite camps to appearing in Judge Judy's galllery to sleeping at the home of a recruit, Jim Harbaugh remains persistently bizarre

-he appears to be having issues with the president (Mark Schlissel)

-has never played nice with his superiors, had issues at Standford and S.F.

No doubt UofM will be in a very tough place after the season. If he has another disappointing year justifiying a new contract will be difficult. But I find it odd that in three stops he's had an issue with all of his bosses.
Wait, what game did he win as an underdog?

Harbaugh does not have a winning record against Notre Dame. He is 1-1.

In the games that matter (ranked teams) you know what his record is. But you wanna pretend I've made something up. If that team of your falls short of expectaions again I can't wait to see what goofy excuses you have. Not once have you ever blamed JH for his own record. It's just excuse after excuse.

@Wamu I'm being serious, as far as I know he hasn’t won a game as the underdog. The game against Notre Dame last year they were favored by 1.5 points.

Michigan typically isn't an underdog. So we dont' have a ton of chances for that to happen. Most of the time it's OSU and maybe one other ranked away game a year.

Sure I have. See at the start of last year where the offense looked like garbage. Go check the threads on the other site. Few teams win all their games. Few teams have winning records against ranked teams. Harbaugh could have done better in a few games specifically. In others, especially against OSU, we just didn't match the talent on the field.

They're favored to lose

Not sure. And don't feel like trying to figure it out right now, I'm busy. My guess is 19th ranked UofM was an underdog last year when they played # 14 Iowa and beat them 10-3.

As much as I enjoy this conversation repeating itself like groundhogs day, no other coach in the conference would meet the standards you're talking about except those coaching at the superpower that is now OSU. Franklin has a shit record vs every major team in the B10. Fleck has a shit record vs. every major team in the B10. Wisconsin has a shit record vs. every major team in the B10. Yes, most have a single win, maybe 2, against OSU in the last decade that Michigan does not have. Congrats. And yes, most (by a product usually of being in the West) have a CCG appearance that htey lost to OSU....that they wouldn't have if they played in the East. Hooray. PSU backed into theirs by Michigan losing to Iowa. Hooray.
Those schools aren't paying their coaches $9MM per.

My God, you're dumb.

What's your point? Michigan paid Harbaugh a lot. That doesn't have anything to do with performance. If we paid him $3 million a year, his performance would still be the same. It's dumb to bring up compensation when it has nothing to do with performance but market value. Michigan paid harbaugh that much, and wil lcontinue to do so, not because we're competing with other college teams but with NFL teams would would almost certainly pay him that much (yes, still).

Was Michigan an underdog when we beat OSU in 2016?

You really are insane. You've been saying for four years meeeechegan won that game. Check the box score. No wonder you think JH is an elite CFB coach.

I saw Michigan with the lead when we stopped JT Barret on 4th down in OT. That's a win, right?
