Little shit

What color are you painting it?

like the inside. Old off white and black. Heirloom white and black.

The strip down the side of the body will be white, and the top of the cab, or shell will also be white. The hood will be white in the center part, and the rest will be black. Like it was here after I primered it.

This was after I did all the body work a few years ago. But this will be the color scheme, with different colors.

Is that an 'adjustable shock' ??? of some kind
HEY SMART ASS! Youre gonna love this.

So in the crew cabs there is a center support, that is made of plastic, and pops onto a track. It hold the front and back panels together in the center. Well, mine crumbed to pieces, and I hacked in a piece of metal just for function, and never really did it right.

Years ago I took some 1/8" cabinet backer paneling (white on one side, raw MDF on the other, and made the head liner panels, It looked ok, except there were some shitty factory welds that made a couple of holes in the back panel. Also it was stark white, and now that I have been painting the cabin in an heirloom white, it kind of stood out.

So I took everything out, and wired up new lights, re ran some of the speaker wires, and redid the center trim support. 20211028_133946[1].jpg

Above you can see where I cut the "rib" off the center track that the plastic trim popped onto. There was a weird transition there, instead of being a smooth contour.

Trim just kind of dry fitted with the front panel in place.

Modified the trim pieces at either side of the cab to accept the new trim piece.

All this to paint the head liners and put them back in for the last time, and be almost done with the inside.....

Shin buster......
its worth it to punch a hole in a bumper or two when assholes back into me.

Someone hit my toyota in a parking lot yesterday, and I didnt see it til I got home. Pretty pissed that they fucked up my bumper and the rear bedside. fucking assholes.

This is why I usually pay people to fix my shit. I usually find a way to fuck up the broken thing even more.

need to get back to workin on
the ol ladys 58 t-bird -

I am looking at a 1963 Ford T-Bird with a 390 matching numbers car....trying to finalize a price for it. I've been keeping my eye out for that particular year model as it is my favorite year for the T-birds. It's in better shape than I usually get them (usually they don't even have a motor or tranny) so I'm a little hesitant to part with that much money for a running driving car (which is what makes it so expensive).
I'm going to strip it all down to the frame anyway and have the motor and tranny sent out to be rebuilt...so having it a running, driving car is not an advantage other than it allows you to see what all is there and not missing. Usually when I buy a project car half the pieces are in the back seat, trunk or in several boxes and it's hard to see what's missing.

Anywho...this is a 1963 Ford T-Bird...

You can tell the '63 apart from the '61 and '62 by the three fins on the door. '61 and '62 didn't have that.

It's the interior that sets the car off in my opinion...absolutely gorgeous!

It was this car, the T-bird, that inspired Ford to create the Mustang which came out a year and a half later...the '64 1/2 Ford Mustang.

I was sitting in my truck years ago at wally world and some bitch hit me. I felt my truck move. Punched a big hole in the front of her car with my hitch.
She screamed Your truck ruined my car, what's that big thing hanging out there, that shouldn't be there!!!

I just said Well let's call the police then and see what they say about it, she decided to leave.

I hate that shiny fiberboard shit, it's useless.
Probably going to use this one as a template for a new board, and maybe just wrap them with a foam backed fabric or someshit.

That's a shame. I hate when shit like that happens and trust me, you are not alone!

IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE!

I bought a kit to repair the sunroof in my Ford Supercrew. The instructions were so confusing and the "drawings" included were indecipherable (and I'm used to looking at engineering drawings).

The sunroof is supposed to retract all the way back or it will tilt up instead of sliding back. To allow this you were suppose to put this little wheeled part on each side in the track a certain way for it to be able to do this. Unfortunately the instructions were so vague about the starting position of this wheeled thing on each side that I couldn't figure which way it went...it fit two different ways. :gaah:

Of course with a 50/50 chance of getting it right...I got it wrong. After buttoning up the sunroof components and replacing the head liner (a Supercab headliner mind you, all by myself too) and replacing all the plastic trim pieces I tried it again...this time though I tried the sunroof in all positions...but it would not tilt up like it's supposed to. That's when I realized the wheeled thing was put in the track the wrong way!

It still slides all the way open so I never took it all apart again to fix it, instead I just settled with it working the way it does. Too much work to take it all apart again.
